VUIIS Metabolic Imaging Journal Club
|
| Contact: Ted Towse |
|
The Metabolic Imaging Journal Club is an opportunity for graduate students, post-docs and faculty to discuss current research in metabolic imaging and spectroscopy. The goals of this journal club are to promote discussion of current research in the field as well as to foster collaborations among scientists both within the VUIIS and throughout the university.
For the spring semester we will discuss two general topics: fMRI of skletal muscle and brain. Three sessions will be devoted to each topic. The format of the journal club has changed somewhat from last semester:
- Option 1: Volunteers may present either their own current data or a research proposal
- Option 2: Volunteers may present a metabolic imaging relevant paper published in the last 6 months from a peer reviewed journal
Some examples of relevant journals (not meant to be a comprehensive list):
Magnetic Resonance in Medicine, Journal of Nuclear Medicine, Radiology, Journal of Physiology, Journal Of Cerebral Blood Flow and Metabolism, NMR Biomedicine, Neuron
The Metabolic Imaging Journal Club will meet every other Tuesday starting on February 3rd in the VUIIS classroom, MCN AA-1119, located on the first floor of the VUIIS. The VUIIS main entrance is on Medical Center Drive facing the Medical Center East parking garage. Enter the VUIIS building through the double doors at the bottom of the stairs and go up to the first floor. Just past the elevator there is a hallway – room AA119 is located at the end of this hallway on the left.
Please see the schedule below for a list of topics, presenters and links to papers for discussion as well as relevant review articles. If you have further questions, please contact Ted Towse (theodore.f.towse@vanderbilt.edu). |
