Robin received her degree in Nuclear Medicine in New Haven, Connecticut, and worked at
Yale New Haven Hospital for 10 years in both nuclear medicine and MRI disciplines,
both clinically and in research. In 1992 she moved to Lexington, Kentucky, where she
served as Chief Clinical Technologist in MRI at the University of Kentucky
for 5 years. At VUIIS, she is managing the 3 Tesla and 7 Tesla human magnets. Robin was also elected President of the International
Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine Technologist Section from 2000-2001. She was
awarded a Fellowship Award in 2003 for distinguished service to the section over which she previously presided.

Donna is Chief Research MRI Technologist at VUIIS. She assists in various projects and operates the Philips 3T Intera Achieva. Donna received her degree in Radiologic Technology at Fayetteville Technical Community College in Fayetteville, NC in 1980 and became registered in MRI in 1998. She has held positions in Clinical Imaging and MRI and has also worked in the healthcare travel industry. Donna received her Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications from the University of Florida in Gainesville, FL in 1993.

Chris's research interests include structural and functional MRI, near infrared
spectroscopy and imaging-related study design. His current research focuses on
examining brain function in a wide array of clinical and normal human populations.
He is currently using fMRI and NIRS independently to look at blood originated
dependent changes in the cortex. Future projects will include a multi-module approach
combining both fMRI and NIRS techniques along with physiological monitoring. Chris
graduated from the University of Rhode Island in 1997 with a bachelor's degree
in Psychology and a minor in International Development.

Bibo received his Ph.D. in laser physics from Shanghai Institute of Optics
and Fine Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, in 1992. He worked at
Vanderbilt Free Electron Laser Center as a R&D Engineer. Bibo joined
VUIIS in April 2008 and finished the designs and construction of the
prototypal parahydrogen generator and hyperpolarization transfer in July
2009. He is currently interested in acousto-optic imaging and
laser-excited transient absorption imaging techniques for in vivo
applications, as well as developing an apparatus for laser-induced
hyperpolarized xenon.

Bruce has been the Computer Systems Administrator at VUIIS since 2002.
He received a B.S. in Engineering Science and Mechanics from Tennessee Technological University.
He then served in the U.S. Army and left active duty as a Captain to work for General Dynamics Corp.
as an Operations Research Systems Analyst. He is a Macintosh and Linux enthusiast, Extra Class
Amateur Radio Operator and Trustee of the Vanderbilt University Amateur Radio Club.

Don received his Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of Iowa in May 2005. Don started at Vanderbilt in October 2005 as a Cancer Imaging Research Fellow with Dr. Ron Price. Soon after arriving, he was brought into the imaging institute to work with Drs. Pham, Yankeelov, and Manning. His graduate work focused on the synthesis of lanthanide and early transition metal cluster complexes. Don is interested in the synthesis of multi-modal molecular contrast agents for optical, PET/SPECT/CT, and or MR imaging. Since joining VUIIS, Don has been working on the synthesis of macromolecular organic molecules for imaging pH via optical and MR imaging. He has also been involved in the synthesis of small organic molecules for the imaging of COX-2.

Dr. Perrien joined the VCBB in November 2008 and the VUIIS in March 2009. He is an expert in the use of microCT technology and other x-ray based technologies for analysis of numerous tissues and synthetic materials. After receiving his Doctorate in Physiology and Biophysics from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, he worked for an orthopaedic tissue engineering company, developing growth factor based drug/device therapies to enhance musculoskeletal repair. Fracture repair and distraction osteogenesis continue to be a major area of interest. In addition, his efforts include mathematical modeling of structure-function relationships in bone, skeletal response to mechanical load, and endocrine control of bone mass and turnover.

Chaohui received her M.D. degree in Medical Pathology at Hebei Medical University and she started to serve in the VUIIS as a veterinary technician in July 2007.

Jarrod True joined VUIIS in June 2004 as Lab Manager for the
Center for Small Animal Imaging. He takes care of all animal related issues and
is also responsible for the general functioning of the CSAI including image coordination,
inventory control, general laboratory maintenance, and safety. He received his
Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Kentucky and a Master of
Business Administration degree from the University of Baltimore.

After graduating from Connecticut School of Electronics, Ken was employed by Echlin Manufacturing
where he worked on electronic controls for turbochargers for the Delorean.
In 1982 he joined Yale University School of Medicine as their Senior MR Research Engineer.
In 1996 he left the Medical School to pursue the following career paths:
software development, Luminometer design, and MR related engineering.
Since 2002 he has been employed by Vanderbilt University Institute of Imaging Science
as Senior R&D Engineer where he is responsible for the maintenance of three high field
MRI imagers. He also designs and fabricates apparatus for experimental use.
