Center for Image Analysis

The Center for Image Analysis (CIA) at the VUIIS is a multi-faceted facility designed to provide solutions and services aimed at making imaging research more tractable for non-quantitative scientists. The CIA is divided into three areas, designed to fulfill the three primary objectives of the center:

  • The Research arm of the CIA develops novel image analysis techniques and tools to provide quick and accurate data analysis for complex problems.
  • The Development arm uses internally-developed solutions, as well as published or externally available techniques, and renders them into easy-to-use tools.
  • The goal of the Service arm is to provide quick, accurate, hands-on image analysis to ease the computational burden of image analysis for members of our scientific community.
The CIA also houses a state-of-the-art computational facility, with shared-use workstations and the latest suite of image and data processing software.
